Care and Concern in Pittston

Bishop Bambera recently visited the community aid center housed in the former Seton
Catholic High School building in Pittston. The impressive operation is a collaboration of
four different organizations supervised by the St. John the Evangelist Parish Community.
It consists of The Care and Concern Free Health Clinic, The Greater Pittston Food Pantry,
The Greater Pittston Kid's Closet, and the newly-opened Pediatric Clinic. All of these
components, which provide much-needed aid to needy in the area, subsist on the generous
contributions of time, expertise and resources donated by volunteers and supporters.
Above photo: The new Pediatric Clinic was assisted greatly by a generous donation
from the Colleen Shea Foundation, and it was dedicated in her honor. To Bishop Bambera's
right is Deacon Jim Cortegerone. Flanking the check are Monsignor John Bendik, St.
John pastor, and clinic director Dr. Michael Imbrogno. Shea family members and clinic
volunteers are also in the photo.
